Transport Planning Apprentice
We are recruiting for a Transport Planning Apprentice, based at our operational site in Droitwich. This exciting new opportunity will involve working in a regional transport planning department, whilst completing your 13-month, Level 2 Traffic Operator apprenticeship.
The Details
- Annual wage: £20,000 a year
- Schedule - Monday - Friday
- Hours: 08:00-16:30 (40 hours a week) plus one Saturday in 4
- Location: Droitwich Depot, Pointon Way, Droitwich, WR9 0LW
- You will be paid on a monthly basis
- Start date: June/July 2026

Work and What you’ll do at work
As an apprentice, you’ll work within our company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff, whilst studying the Level 2 Traffic Operator apprenticeship course. You will learn how to arrange the delivery of the customer's product on time and in full using the most cost-effective means possible and best use of available resources, whilst complying with Transport Legislation and Health Safety. In addition to this you will learn:
- How to manage the Transport Management System (TMS).
- Ensure effective and efficient use of driver and vehicle resources.
- Ensuring customer requirements are administered.
- Liaise, support and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Promote effective and efficient standards of work, in order to comply with transport legislation, company policy and Health Safety legislation.
- Learning how to manage Driver hours, WTD rules.
- Helping to submit various KPI reports.
Training
- An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
- Equal to Level 2 (GCSE)
- Course contents
- You will be expected to complete monthly online training to develop your skills and knowledge around your role. Your role will be based at: Menzies Distribution Solutions Ltd. Droitwich Depot, Pointon Way, Droitwich, WR9 0LW

- GCSE English and Maths (Grade 9-4) essential
