HGV Class 1 Driver/Shunter

Menzies Distribution Solutions is looking for an experienced HGV Shunter to join our team in Clitheroe. The main purpose of the role will be to support with daily deliveries to new and existing customers across the business.

The Details:

  • Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday Days 
  • Salary: £38,804.35 PA £15.50 PH
  • Start & Finish Times: Differs. Approx. 06:00-16:15
  • Hours: 48 Per Week
  • Monthly Pay
  • Holiday Entitlement: 20 days, increasing by 1 day each completed year up to 25 days
  • Parking onsite

Shunting Duties:

  • Supporting the depot by loading & unloading onsite trailers
  • To carry out vehicle and trailer safety checks prior to commencement of shift complying with appropriate documentation and procedures
  • Ensure vehicle load is safe, secure and correctly positioned
  • Correctly check and accept load documentation and delivery paperwork
  • Correctly check in any returned goods and ensure paperwork is accurate
  • Operate vehicle safely, ensuring driver actions do not endanger self or other road users
  • Undertake any other reasonable job instruction to support the supply of a quality service to the customer
  • Ratchet, Strap & corner management duties

HGV Driver Requirements:

  • A full UK C+E licence (essential)
  • Excellent driving skills
  • No more than 6 points on your licence
  • No previous disqualifications (DD,TT,DR,CD,IN)
  • ‘Right To Work’ in the UK
  • Good knowledge of drivers hours and WTD regulations
  • Moffett licence desirable but not essential
