We have an excellent opportunity for an energised and experienced Dispatch Manager to join our Knowsley Depot. You'll play an integral part in the efficient day to day operations of our Distribution Centre, you will work closely with our experienced Depot Manager who will support you to manage a challenging daily workload where no two days provide the same challenge.  We will look for you to develop a culture of success through positive team engagement, great communications and hands-on leadership resulting in your team continually delivering challenging Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

It will be important that you are organised as you will frequently need to juggle several tasks to meet deadlines and use your problem-solving and judgement skills to deliver challenging customer requirements. So, if you’re naturally driven, excel at people management and like a challenge, then this could be the opportunity for you.

• Salary: £35,000 Per Annum
• Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 06:00-16:00

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Responsible for on the road management of the delivery fleet via vehicle telematics to ensure delivery performance is maximised and achieve all delivery deadlines.
• Control subcontractors ensuring service levels are met.
• Day to day management of the traffic operations supporting the training of the drivers.
• Supporting with compliance checks in relation to H&S and transport management
• Addressing escalated customer issues through timely actions.
• Proactively monitoring and engaging with driver to achieve all delivery deadlines.
• Ensure the department operates within the legal constraints of the site operator’s licence.
• Ensure the operation is fully compliant with legislation and company tachograph policy.
• Ensure the operation complies with the Road Traffic Act.
• Ensure department complies with health and safety legislation.
• Carry out investigations where applicable
• Supervise the core Knowsley fleet

WHAT YOU NEED

• Previous Supervisory or managerial experience is preferred
• A good approach to prioritisation of daily tasks and keeping a cool head under pressure
• A common-sense approach to problem-solving
• Computer literate
• Comfortable working to strict deadlines
• Great communication skills
