A specialist school in Dunstable is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their experienced team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive setting, where staff are committed to delivering personalised education that meets the unique needs of each learner.

The successful candidate will have experience working with children with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties. You will be joining a nurturing environment where creativity, flexibility, and a strong commitment to pupil progress are key.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to pupils’ EHCPs and individual needs

  • Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment

  • Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure consistency and progress

  • Use a range of strategies to manage behaviour and promote emotional wellbeing

  • Monitor and assess progress, adapting plans and targets accordingly

  • Participate in annual reviews and contribute to IEPs/EHCP meetings


About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)

  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND (in mainstream or specialist settings)

  • Strong understanding of strategies for teaching pupils with autism and complex needs

  • Positive, patient, and resilient approach to supporting young people

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
