About the Role:
Choice Teachers is delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Drama to join one of our client secondary schools. This is an excellent role for a dynamic individual looking to inspire creativity and confidence in young people through the performing arts.
We are seeking a skilled Drama educator who holds a degree in Drama and Theatre Studies and has at least three years of experience teaching in a secondary school setting. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in developing students’ performance skills, confidence, and appreciation for the dramatic arts.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver a vibrant and engaging Drama curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4, tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.

Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students of all abilities.

Organise and direct school productions, performances, and drama clubs to enrich the school’s creative culture.

Encourage a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to express themselves.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and interventions where necessary.

Contribute to the wider school community, participating in departmental meetings, extracurricular events, and whole-school initiatives.

Collaborate with colleagues in the Expressive Arts Faculty to drive forward high standards in creative education.

Serve as a form tutor, providing pastoral care and promoting the well-being and academic progress of your tutor group.

Engage in continuing professional development and the school’s performance review processes to enhance personal and departmental growth.
Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:

A degree in Drama and Theatre Studies.

QTS (or equivalent) and at least three years of teaching experience in a UK secondary school.

Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for Drama, with the ability to differentiate effectively.

Experience directing student performances and a passion for extracurricular involvement.

Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to foster a safe, respectful, and creative learning environment.

Strong ICT skills and experience using technology to support teaching and learning.

A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills to engage effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.

A passion for developing students’ artistic talents, building their confidence, and encouraging teamwork and creative thinking.
