About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant for a short-term contract position in a school setting. This initial 2-3 week contract may be extended based on performance and ongoing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and cooking under supervision
• Support the kitchen team during busy meal service periods
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety
• Help with washing up, cleaning, and general kitchen maintenance
• Ensure compliance with school catering standards
• Assist with serving meals to students and staff

Essential Requirements

• Enhanced DBS certificate required (or willingness to obtain one)
• Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment preferred
• Understanding of food hygiene practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach
• Available for immediate start
