About the Role
We are working with a highly respected college in Barnet to recruit a passionate Childcare Lecturer to join their successful Education & Care department. This is a permanent position, available as full-time or 0.6 FTE, starting in September 2025.
You will play a key role in delivering vocational qualifications in Childcare and Early Years, supporting learners from diverse backgrounds and preparing them for careers in education, health, and social care settings.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and up-to-date lessons across Childcare and Early Years qualifications (Level 1–3 and potentially T-Levels)

Plan schemes of work that reflect industry standards and best practice

Track, assess, and support student progress through to successful outcomes

Provide tutorial and pastoral support to learners, promoting wellbeing and personal development

Work collaboratively within the department to develop resources and teaching strategies

Support student work placements and maintain links with employers and local providers

Participate in open evenings, careers events, and departmental meetings
Requirements
-
Degree in Early Years, Education, or a related subject

Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, DTLLS, or equivalent)

Experience teaching Childcare or Early Years courses (Post-16 or KS4)

Knowledge of current Early Years curriculum frameworks and assessment requirements

Passion for inclusive education, student achievement, and employability skills

Excellent organisational and communication skills
