Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and creative Year 2 lessons aligned with the National Curriculum

  • Assess and monitor pupils' progress towards Key Stage 1 outcomes, providing timely interventions

  • Create a stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity and confidence

  • Maintain high expectations for learning and behaviour

  • Collaborate with colleagues on planning, assessment and moderation

  • Establish strong, supportive relationships with parents and carers

  • Engage in wider school activities, events and trips


Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ECTs and experienced teachers welcome

  • Recent experience or sound understanding of Year 2 and Key Stage 1 curriculum

  • Familiarity with Phonics (preferably Little Wandle or similar schemes)

  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • A nurturing approach, with a passion for inclusion and progress for all learners

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
