We are seeking a highly organised, motivated, and detail-oriented Data and Cover Manager to support the smooth running of a secondary school in the Clapham area. This is a key role for someone who thrives on precision, is confident working with data systems, and has a proactive approach to managing daily logistics across the school.

The Role

As Data and Cover Manager, you will play a pivotal part in the effective operation of the school timetable and data systems. You will be responsible for overseeing daily staff cover arrangements, maintaining accurate student and staff data, and supporting the senior leadership team with data analysis and reporting.

This position requires excellent administrative and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and confidence working with a range of software platforms and stakeholders. You’ll be a central figure in the school’s operational team, ensuring everything from daily cover to national data submissions runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cover Management:

    • Coordinate daily staff absence cover across all departments.

    • Deploy internal cover supervisors or arrange external supply as needed.

    • Communicate cover duties clearly and promptly each morning.

    • Maintain accurate cover records and monitor staff absence trends.

  • Data Management:

    • Manage the school’s MIS (preferably Bromcom) to ensure accuracy of student and staff records.

    • Update and validate data entries including admissions, leavers, and attendance patterns.

    • Administer the end-of-year process on the MIS.

    • Support staff with accessing and utilising the MIS effectively.

    • Run compliance and data integrity checks on a regular basis.

  • Examinations & Reporting:

    • Oversee and administer the KS4 and KS5 DfE Checking Exercises.

    • Collate and analyse key data reports for internal and external stakeholders.

    • Support statutory reporting requirements including the school census.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate the following:

  • Strong working knowledge of a Management Information System (preferably Bromcom).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools).

  • Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.

  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • The ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.

  • Confidence in compiling reports, data dashboards, and presenting to senior leaders.

  • A collaborative, flexible approach and a willingness to learn new systems.

  • Experience or understanding of JCQ regulations and examination data management is desirable.

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced school administrator or data specialist looking to take the next step in a busy and rewarding school environment. Working in Clapham offers excellent transport links and the chance to be part of a vibrant, diverse community with a strong focus on education and student development.

If you are organised, tech-savvy, and passionate about supporting a school's success behind the scenes, we encourage you to apply.
