About the Role:
Choice Teachers is working with a well-established and high-achieving secondary school in Westminster to recruit a Lead Practitioner of Chemistry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Chemistry specialist looking to take a leading role within a thriving Science department.

The successful candidate will support the development of outstanding teaching and learning, driving standards across Chemistry and working collaboratively to secure excellent outcomes for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the improvement of teaching and learning across the Science Faculty, with a focus on Chemistry.

  • Deliver outstanding classroom practice across KS3 to KS5, setting the standard for others.

  • Support curriculum development and quality assurance processes across Science.

  • Actively contribute to school-wide priorities and whole-school improvement.

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to colleagues within the department.

  • Be fully involved in developing resources, schemes of work, and student interventions.

  • Maintain exemplary behaviour and discipline in line with school policies.

  • Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Chemistry or a related subject.

  • Proven record of outstanding classroom practice across Key Stages 3, 4, and ideally 5.

  • Strong behaviour management and an ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.

  • Previous experience in leading or supporting school improvement initiatives.

  • Ability to provide high-quality CPD and mentoring support to colleagues.

  • Skilled in data analysis to drive teaching and learning improvements.

  • A commitment to professional development and ongoing career growth.
