Choice Teachers is proud to be working in partnership with one of our Herts for Learning schools to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Textiles Teacher for a permanent position starting in September 2025.

This exciting opportunity is based at a highly respected secondary school in Hemel Hempstead, known for its supportive environment, strong ethos, and commitment to high standards of teaching and learning. The school sits within spacious and well-equipped grounds, providing excellent resources for both staff and students.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant and well-resourced Technology Department, consisting of four full-time and one part-time teacher, supported by two full-time technicians. Facilities include a dedicated Textiles room, multiple workshops, two Food Technology rooms, and IT-equipped classrooms with CAD CAM technology.

About the Role:

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging Textiles lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

• Support students’ progress through assessment and personalised feedback

• Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the department’s curriculum

• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

• Engage with the school community and participate in extracurricular activities

Requirements:

• Degree in Textiles or a related subject

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification

• Experience teaching Textiles at secondary level

• Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities

Desirable:

• Specialism or additional qualification in Textiles

• Experience working within a faith-based school is welcomed but not essential. Support for the school’s Catholic ethos is expected.
