About the Trust

We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and customer-focused IT Technician to join our dynamic Trust Central Team. Working closely with the Director of IT and senior members of the IT Services team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality IT support and maintaining our technology environment across all Trust schools and central services.

If you are passionate about technology, eager to support education, and looking for a role that offers varied technical challenges, we would love to hear from you.

The Role

This is a hands-on, multi-faceted role that combines technical support, system administration, cyber security, project delivery, and excellent customer service. You will help ensure that our technology services remain secure, reliable, and fit for purpose—directly enabling teaching, learning, safeguarding, and efficient business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Support & Service Delivery: Provide responsive technical support to staff and pupils across the Trust (remotely, by telephone, and in person). Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and system faults while delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Infrastructure & Systems: Assist in maintaining and improving the Trust's core technology infrastructure, including network, wireless, cloud, server, and hybrid environments, as well as managing user accounts, permissions, and asset records.

  • Cyber Security & Compliance: Help maintain system security, vulnerability management, patching schedules, and data backups while ensuring full compliance with UK GDPR, data protection legislation, and safeguarding filtering standards.

  • Projects & DfE Standards: Support the Trust in meeting Department for Education (DfE) digital standards, assisting with upcoming digital transformation initiatives, site deployments, technology refreshes, and system migrations.

  • Supplier & Partner Collaboration: Work alongside third-party contractors and external partners to coordinate installations, upgrades, and support activities.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience working in a dedicated IT support environment (education sector experience is advantageous but not essential).

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills covering modern hardware, operating systems, networking, and cloud/hybrid environments.

  • Familiarity with cyber security principles, system backups, and data protection regulations (such as UK GDPR).

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build positive working relationships with staff, pupils, and stakeholders.

  • A flexible, proactive approach, with the ability to travel and work across various Trust sites as required.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary package ranging from £27,500 to £35,000 per annum.

  • A supportive, collaborative, and forward-thinking central team environment.

  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and training.

  • [Insert other benefits, e.g., local government pension scheme, etc.]
