Choice Teachers are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to work in a secondary school in Greenwich, South London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, reliable and motivated individual who enjoys working with young people and is looking to develop their experience within a secondary school environment.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising students during lessons when their usual teacher is unavailable. You will ensure that students remain focused, engaged and well behaved while following the work and lesson plans provided by teaching staff.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher

• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions

• Managing classroom behaviour effectively

• Supporting students with their learning

• Maintaining a positive and safe learning environment

• Reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate member of staff

• Ensuring school policies and procedures are followed

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who:

• Have experience working with children or young people

• Have excellent communication and classroom management skills

• Are confident managing groups of students

• Are reliable, professional and organised

• Can build positive relationships with students and staff

• Have a genuine interest in supporting young people's education

• Are able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Previous experience in a school or education setting is desirable, although candidates with relevant transferable experience will also be considered.

To be considered for this role, candidates must be able to provide:

• A full working-history CV, including details of all relevant employment and any gaps in employment

• Professional references covering the previous 2 years of employment

• The necessary documentation to complete the required safeguarding and compliance checks

As the role involves working with children and young people, all appointments are subject to appropriate safeguarding and compliance procedures.
