Start Date: September 2026 Choice Teachers are currently looking to build their pool of dedicated Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, SEN Teaching Assistants, and Classroom Support Assistants ahead of the 2026/27 academic year. Working in partnership with a wide range of schools across East London and the city, we are seeking enthusiastic and reliable support staff who are available for long-term, short-term, and day-to-day opportunities from September 2026. About the Role – Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant
As a member of the Choice Teachers support staff pool, responsibilities may include:
- Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom
- Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives
- Assisting teachers with classroom management and lesson preparation
- Helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- Supporting pupils with varying learning needs and abilities
- Encouraging pupil participation, confidence, and academic progress
- Providing additional support to children with SEND where required
- Always following school policies and safeguarding procedures
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Classroom Assistant, or in a similar role
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be proactive, adaptable, and able to use their own initiative
- Be patient, nurturing, and committed to supporting children's development
- Have a genuine passion for education and helping pupils achieve their potential
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable but not essential
- Be confident supporting children and young people across a range of age groups and educational settings
