SEN Teaching Assistant – Permanent (School-Based Role, Peterborough)

The Role

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 2 or above)
  • Contract: Permanent, full-time

  • Salary: £20,000 – £24,000 per year (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support
  • Support pupils with EHCPs and additional needs
  • Assist with delivery of tailored learning programmes
  • Manage and support challenging behaviour
  • Promote emotional regulation and social development
  • Work closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals

Requirements

  • Essential:
    • Experience in a similar role (school, SEN, care, or youth work)
  • Desirable:
    • Previous experience in an SEN school setting
    • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or higher)
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Patient, consistent, and resilient approach
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
