We are currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive school for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with special educational needs, helping them access learning and reach their full potential in a positive and nurturing environment. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with special educational needs

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities

  • Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation

  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in lessons

  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to support pupils’ development

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with SEN (such as Autism, ADHD, or learning difficulties) is desirable

  • Comfortble with personal care
  • A patient, caring, and understanding approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) is beneficial but not essential

  • TEAMTEACH desirable
