Choice Teachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and nurturing lower school in Central Bedfordshire to recruit a qualified, caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant for a fixed-term role. This wonderful school provides a safe, creative, and supportive environment where every child is encouraged to explore, learn, and flourish.


The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial part in supporting children’s learning, emotional development, and classroom engagement. Applicants must hold a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3). Your responsibilities will include:

1. Learning Support

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support across literacy, numeracy, and wider subjects.

  • Encouraging independence, resilience, and confidence in young learners.

  • Adapting resources and activities to meet diverse learning needs.

2. Classroom Support

  • Assisting with lesson setup, preparation, and activity organisation.

  • Supporting behaviour management to maintain a calm, structured environment.

  • Feeding back to the class teacher on progress, challenges, and observations.

3. Creating an Engaging Environment

  • Contributing to interactive and creative learning activities.

  • Encouraging curiosity and positive attitudes towards learning.

  • Supporting children’s social and emotional development.

4. Promoting Well-being

  • Acting as a positive, caring role model.

  • Helping ensure the classroom is inclusive and supportive for all learners.

  • Observing and flagging any concerns related to behaviour, progress, or welfare.
