We’re seeking an experienced Guitar Tutor to deliver weekly 1:1 tuition to a young secondary student with Special Educational Needs. The student already plays at an intermediate level, loves the guitar, and needs structured guidance to progress through the next academic year. This Guitar Tutor role suits a patient, reliable musician with a passion for nurturing confidence and musicality in SEN learners. About the Role

• Weekly 1:1 sessions (total 2 hours on the same day) across term time.

• Plan engaging lessons to advance technique, repertoire, timing, and musicianship.

• Tailor strategies for SEN needs; build routines that support focus and enjoyment.

• Coordinate with parent/guardian and (where relevant) school contacts to align goals.

• Track progress towards agreed milestones (e.g., grades, performance pieces).

• Safeguarding-first practice; professional boundaries and punctuality are key.

The Ideal Candidate Will

• Be an accomplished Guitar Tutor (Grade 6+ or equivalent skills; acoustic/electric welcome).

• Have proven experience supporting SEN learners (e.g., ASD/ADHD/SpLD), using calm, structured approaches.

• Communicate clearly with young people and adults; set achievable, motivating targets.

• Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS; Update Service preferred.

• Have the right to work in the UK and be able to provide two recent references.

• Be consistently available the same day each week during term time.
