About the Role

A well-established further education college in Barnet is seeking a skilled and passionate Plumbing Lecturer to join their vocational team. This role involves delivering both practical and theoretical training to students aiming for careers in plumbing and related trades.

You will be responsible for preparing learners for industry-recognised qualifications and supporting their progression into apprenticeships, employment, or further study.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging plumbing lessons that combine practical skills with underpinning technical knowledge

• Assess student work and track progress towards qualifications such as City & Guilds or equivalent

• Ensure workshops and teaching environments comply with health and safety standards

• Collaborate with curriculum teams and employers to keep the curriculum relevant to industry needs

• Provide guidance on personal development and employability skills

• Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Relevant vocational qualifications and industry experience in plumbing

• Experience teaching or training students in a further education or apprenticeship setting

• Knowledge of current health and safety practices within plumbing and construction

• Teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, DTLLS) or willingness to obtain one

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• A commitment to supporting learners from diverse backgrounds
