History Teacher – Long-Term Maternity Cover

Choice Teachers are currently recruiting for a History Teacher to join a great mainstream secondary school in Lancaster for a long-term maternity cover placement, starting after the October half-term and continuing for the remainder of the academic year.

The Role

• Position: History Teacher
• Location: Lancaster
• Start date: After the October half-term
• Duration: Long-term maternity cover for the remainder of the academic year
• Working pattern: Full-time
• Pay: £174–£270 per day, paid to scale

The Ideal Candidate

The successful History Teacher will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. ECTs are welcome to apply.
• Have experience teaching History across KS3 and KS4.
• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that inspire pupils and support strong learning outcomes.
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils with a range of abilities.
• Demonstrate effective classroom and behaviour management.
• Monitor pupil progress and complete planning, marking and assessment as required.
• Be committed to safeguarding, inclusion and promoting pupil wellbeing.
