Choice Teachers are currently recruiting experienced School Finance Officers and Finance Administrators for upcoming temporary cover opportunities within secondary schools and academies in South Hertfordshire.

We are looking for adaptable finance professionals who can hit the ground running to support busy school administration offices and business managers. Positions range from short-term emergency cover to ongoing full-time temporary assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing purchase orders, sales/purchase ledgers, and supplier invoices.

• Reconciling bank statements and managing petty cash.

• Assisting with budget monitoring, month-end routines, and financial reporting.

• Operating school finance software to maintain accurate records.

• Supporting the School Business Manager with general administrative and financial duties.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role within a school, college, or educational setting is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with educational finance software (e.g., SIMS Finance, FMS, Access Financials, PS Financials/IRIS, or Sage) is advantageous.

• Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.

• High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.

• An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
