Contract Type: Temporary, day-to-day (with potential of permanent opportunities)
Pay: £80 – £90 per day

About the Role

Choice Teachers are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join one of our warm, supportive partner schools in Stevenage. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education and committed to making a real difference to pupils’ learning and wellbeing.

You will provide valuable classroom support across EYFS, Key Stage 1, or Key Stage 2, depending on your experience and the needs of the school. This role is ideal for someone who is adaptable, proactive, and enjoys working within a nurturing school environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

• Work with pupils individually or in small groups to boost learning and confidence.

• Assist with classroom preparation, resources, and daily routines.

• Help manage behaviour and promote positive learning attitudes.

• Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND or additional needs.

• Maintain a safe, encouraging, and stimulating classroom environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a school support role (preferred).

• A calm, patient, and caring approach.

• A genuine passion for supporting children’s education and development.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

• Reliability, flexibility, and availability to work in the Stevenage area.
