Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Long-term, full-time (term-time only)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive mainstream secondary school in St Albans from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for education and a commitment to helping every student succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and speech & language needs

  • Support teachers in delivering tailored lessons and inclusive classroom activities

  • Help develop students' confidence, independence, and social skills

  • Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals to support EHCP outcomes

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (in schools or other settings)

  • A caring, patient, and proactive attitude

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A desire to make a positive difference in young people's lives

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

  • Experience working in a secondary school setting
