Choice Teachers are currently recruiting Learning Support Mentors and Teaching Assistants to work across secondary schools and colleges in the Atherton area. We offer flexible opportunities, including day-to-day supply and long-term placements, available on a part-time or full-time basis to suit your lifestyle.

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking committed individuals who:

  • Have a genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of young people.

  • Can build positive, professional relationships and help students overcome barriers to learning.

  • Are comfortable working 1:1 or with small groups of pupils.

  • Have excellent spoken English.

  • Ideally have experience in managing or responding to challenging behaviour in educational, residential, or youth settings.

This role is perfect for:

  • Those with experience working with young people in any capacity.

  • Individuals looking to gain valuable school-based experience before applying for a PGCE.

  • Candidates considering a career change into education or support work.

Requirements:

  • A valid DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

  • A-Level education or equivalent (desirable).

  • Experience working with young people (desirable, and references required).

  • Two professional references.

  • Right to work in the UK.
