Choice Teachers is partnering with a high-achieving secondary school in Hemel Hempstead to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Design & Technology Teacher with a specialism in Resistant Materials and Product Design. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving and well-resourced department in a supportive and inclusive school environment.

The successful candidate will be joining a committed and dynamic Technology Department, made up of four full-time and one part-time teacher, supported by two full-time technicians. The department enjoys outstanding facilities, including:

  • Three fully equipped workshops for Resistant Materials and Product Design

  • Two IT-equipped classrooms (40 computers in total)

  • A dedicated Sixth Form teaching room

  • Specialist rooms for Food Technology and Textiles

  • Extensive CAD/CAM hardware and software to support teaching and learning

Curriculum Overview:

  • Key Stage 3: All students receive one period of Food and one period of Product Design each week throughout the year

  • Key Stage 4: Students can opt for AQA Design and Technology – Materials Technology or AQA Food Preparation and Nutrition

  • Key Stage 5: AQA Product Design is offered at A Level and is a popular subject with strong uptake
