Salary: £34,069 – £46,940 per annum (Main Pay Scale, depending on experience)

Choice Teachers are currently recruiting for a Year 5 Class Teacher to join a modern, welcoming, and forward-thinking primary school in Hemel Hempstead, starting after the October half-term break.

The Role

• Teach a Year 5 class across the full Key Stage 2 curriculum, using engaging and structured teaching methods.

• Plan and deliver ambitious, vocabulary-rich lessons that encourage critical thinking, curiosity, and deeper understanding.

• Support pupils' academic progression alongside their emotional well-being and personal development.

• Assess progress, track attainment, and adapt learning strategies to ensure every child can succeed regardless of their starting point.

• Foster a calm, high-expectation, and supportive classroom environment built on mutual respect and positive relationships.

• Work collaboratively within the Key Stage 2 team and contribute to the vibrant life of the school community.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• Has experience teaching within KS2, ideally Year 5.

• Possesses a strong understanding of Key Stage 2 curriculum expectations and assessment standards.

• Is committed to inclusive practice, explicitly developing pupils' vocabulary, and driving high aspirations.

• Demonstrates excellent classroom management with high standards for learning and behavior.

• Is enthusiastic, collaborative, and dedicated to preparing children for their future educational journey.
