Year 2 Teacher – Watford

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire

Start Date: After October Half Term

Contract: Full-time

Salary: £34,069 – £46,940 per annum (Main Pay Scale, depending on experience)

Choice Teachers are currently recruiting for a Year 2 Class Teacher to join a vibrant, highly inclusive, and welcoming primary school set in a historic site in the heart of Watford, starting after the October half-term break.

The Role

• Teach a Year 2 class across the Key Stage 1 curriculum, utilising creative and engaging learning approaches.

• Plan and deliver well-structured, inspiring lessons that cater to a rich diversity of backgrounds and learning needs, including pupils with EAL.

• Support pupils' academic growth, resilience, and personal development.

• Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies to ensure strong progress across all abilities.

• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment that fosters curiosity, kindness, and ambition.

• Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team and contribute positively to the wider life of the school community.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• Has experience teaching within KS1, ideally Year 2.

• Demonstrates a strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and statutory assessment expectations.

• Is passionate about inclusive practice and experienced in supporting diverse learners, including children learning English as an additional language.

• Is confident with classroom management and enthusiastic about integrating creative approaches into daily learning.

• Is reliable, collaborative, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
