About the Role

Choice Teachers, a specialist education recruitment agency, is seeking confident, adaptable and proactive Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in and around Rainham, London.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into classrooms during teacher absences, delivering pre-prepared lesson materials, maintaining positive classroom behaviour, and ensuring pupils remain focused and engaged in their learning. This is a varied and rewarding role, offering exposure to different school environments and student needs.

You’ll benefit from a flexible working pattern, gain valuable hands-on experience in education, and build strong classroom management skills. This opportunity is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals passionate about supporting young people in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher
• Deliver pre-set lesson plans and activities
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a safe, productive learning environment
• Support students with their work and encourage engagement
• Always follow school policies and safeguarding procedures

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Degree or Level 3 qualification (desirable but not essential)
• Experience working with children or young people in any setting (e.g. schools, tutoring, coaching, youth work)
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
• Right to work in the UK
• Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to different school environments
