Choice Teachers are working with SEN schools in LIVERPOOL to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant to start in September when the school year resumes.

You will need to be able demonstrate your confidence by being able to nurture and engage with SEN children who have a variety of complexed needs.

You must be able to display strong control and remain calm in any situation that arises and have a passion of working within an SEN school.

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with a range of SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social/emotional needs).

• Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.

• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• Support the class teacher in managing behaviour and maintaining classroom routines.

• Monitor student progress and contribute to individual education plans (IEPs).

• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience working with children with SEN (in a school or similar setting) is highly desirable.

• A nurturing and resilient approach, with excellent communication skills.

• A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

• A flexible team player who can adapt to the needs of the school and pupils.

The successful candidate must have:

• DBS Certificate on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• Right to work in the UK
• 2 professional references
• Has qualification passes in English and Maths or equivalent
