We’re working with a vibrant secondary school in Brent to find a reliable and proactive DT & Art Technician to support the smooth running of their Design Technology and Art departments.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in technical or creative settings, who enjoys supporting both staff and students in a busy educational environment.

About the Role

As a DT & Art Technician, you’ll support teaching staff by preparing equipment, organising resources and ensuring students can safely engage in practical activities across both the Design Technology and Art curriculums.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and maintaining tools, materials, and equipment for practical lessons

• Advising students on the safe use of tools and supporting in lessons where needed

• Supporting with 3D and 2D materials such as canvas stretching and screen printing

• Assisting with displays, ordering materials, and maintaining a safe working space

• Providing occasional support after hours for school events or workshops

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience using DT and/or Art tools, equipment, and materials

• Be confident working in a school environment or similar practical setting

• Hold A Levels (or equivalent) and basic Health & Safety knowledge

• Be organised, hands-on, and proactive with good communication skills

• Have a passion for creativity and a willingness to help young learners succeed
