We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Music Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Luton. This role offers an exciting opportunity to teach across KS3 and take on a leadership position as Head of Department or Second in Charge, initially on a temporary basis with strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Music lessons across KS3

  • Support and lead curriculum development within the department

  • Assist or lead as Head of Department / Second in Charge, supporting staff and driving department initiatives

  • Prepare students for performances, assessments, and external qualifications

  • Contribute to extracurricular music activities and events

  • Promote high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential

  • Experience teaching Music across KS3 (experience with GCSE/A Level is advantageous)

  • Leadership experience or aspiration within a music department

  • Passionate about inspiring and challenging students

  • Ability to foster a creative, inclusive, and motivating learning environment

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
