Choice Teachers are working with a secondary school in Hammersmith that prides itself on creating a learning environment that is safe, respectful, and has high-expectations of its students. The school is now seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team and help promote positive behaviour, emotional development, and academic progres

The Role
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a positive classroom environment and supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. You’ll work closely with the teaching and pastoral staff to implement consistent strategies and provide both in-class and out-of-class support.

In addition to mentoring responsibilities, you will be expected to ensure continuity of learning and maintain clear behaviour expectations alongside a teacher in a classroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support for students with SEMH needs, ADHD, autism or trauma-related challenges
• Support the management of behaviour across the school, particularly in challenging situations
• Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions to help students build resilience, emotional regulation, and engagement
• Promote positive behaviour and learning routines both in and outside of lessons
• Work collaboratively with the SENCO, pastoral team and classroom staff to deliver joined-up support
• Apply consistent boundaries and restorative approaches to de-escalate situations effectively

• Has experience or a genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs
• Is a strong communicator and team player

• Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
