Overview:

A thriving and forward-thinking secondary school in Bedfordshire is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Physics to join its Science department. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Physics lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and ideally 5, inspiring students to achieve their best and fostering a love for science.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ambitious ECT looking to join a supportive and collaborative team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Physics lessons aligned with the national curriculum.

  • Teach Physics across KS3–KS5 (A-Level experience desirable but not essential).

  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and high-achieving students.

  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment within the Science faculty.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents.

  • Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.

  • Participate in departmental meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives.


Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Degree in Physics or a closely related subject.

  • Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to inclusive education.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.

  • Passion for science and ability to inspire and motivate learners.

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching A-Level Physics.

  • Experience in or a willingness to support extracurricular STEM activities.

  • Familiarity with adaptive teaching strategies and data-led intervention.
