We are working in partnership with a high-performing secondary school in Watford to recruit a Textiles Teacher for a permanent position starting as soon as possible or from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher to join a thriving department with the flexibility of a full-time or 0.8 part-time contract.

🔧 About the Technology Department

• 4 full-time teachers and 1 part-time teacher

• 2 full-time specialist technicians

• Dedicated Textiles room

• Two Food Technology rooms

• Workshops and CAD/CAM-equipped IT classrooms

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach engaging and creative Textiles lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

• Assess, monitor, and support student progress

• Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment

• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

• Engage positively with colleagues, students, and parents

✅ Requirements

• A degree in Textiles or a related subject

• QTS and a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE)

• Experience teaching Textiles at secondary level

• Passion, initiative, and the ability to inspire students

• A specialism or further qualification in Textiles

• Openness to supporting the school’s values and ethos
