Job Description

Choice Teachers is currently seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and experienced Maths Lecturer to join a vibrant further education setting in Stevenage on a permanent basis (with temporary-to-permanent options available for the right candidate).

This role is ideal for a dedicated educator who specialises in delivering engaging GCSE Mathematics curricula to post-16 learners and adult students. You will play a crucial role in helping learners build confidence, bridge learning gaps, and achieve the essential qualifications needed for their future career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, inspiring GCSE Mathematics lessons to diverse student cohorts.

• Plan and adapt schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning resources to meet varying student abilities and learning styles.

• Monitor student progress closely, setting meaningful targets, conducting formative assessments, and providing constructive feedback.

• Manage classroom behaviour positively, maintaining a productive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the academic department to track retention, achievement, and success rates.

• Support learners with pastoral guidance and exam preparation strategies.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Proven experience teaching GCSE Mathematics within a school, sixth form, or further education (FE) college environment.

• Relevant academic qualifications (degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline).

• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, QTS, or QTLS).

• Strong classroom management skills, excellent subject knowledge, and a passion for student success.

• Available to start as soon as possible.
