Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We are currently recruiting a dedicated and empathetic SEMH Teaching Assistant for a wonderful school located in the area of Kilburn, London. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students, supporting their emotional and educational development in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.

  • Assist in managing challenging behaviour in the classroom and around the school.

  • Support students in developing emotional regulation and social skills.

  • Work closely with the classroom teacher and special educational needs (SEN) team to implement tailored strategies and interventions.

  • Encourage student engagement and help them access the curriculum.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and wellbeing.

  • Create a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, either in a classroom setting or other relevant environment.

  • A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting students.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents.

  • A passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • Ideally, experience with behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
