About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, resilient, and dedicated Year 2 Teacher for a primary school located in Willowgrove. This is a full-time position (5 days per week minimum) for a fully qualified teacher looking to secure a permanent opportunity, with the school open to a temp-to-perm arrangement for the right candidate.

The class includes several pupils with additional needs and complex behavioural challenges. The primary focus for the school is finding an experienced candidate who can bring long-term stability and consistency to these pupils, avoiding frequent staffing changes.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Qualifications: Fully qualified status with QTS is mandatory. Candidates must have fully completed their ECT (Early Career Teacher) induction years — this position is not suitable for ECTs/NQTs.

  • Experience: Strong, proven Key Stage 1 experience, specifically within Year 2.

  • Specialist Knowledge: Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) and SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs — essential.

  • Behaviour Management: Exceptional behaviour management skills with a consistent, calm, and nurturing approach.

  • Personal Qualities: High resilience, patience, adaptability, and a strong passion for making a positive impact in a challenging environment.

  • Availability: Full-time availability (5 days per week minimum) starting the Wednesday immediately after half term.

What the School Offers

  • Competitive rate of pay matched to your experience on the Teacher Main Pay Scale (MPS).

  • A supportive leadership team focused on long-term staff integration and wellbeing.

  • A clear route to a permanent contract for a strong candidate.

How to Apply / Recommend a Candidate

If you are a fully qualified teacher who has completed your ECT induction and feels confident in managing high-behavioural needs, or if you have a candidate seeking a full-time, permanent opportunity, please send their CV and availability as soon as possible.
