Deputy Manager – After School Club

📍 Waltham Cross | 🕒 Monday–Friday, 3pm–6pm

We are looking for a confident and experienced Deputy Manager to join our friendly after school club.

This is a hands-on childcare role, similar to a Playworker position, but with the added responsibility of leading and managing the session and delegating duties to the team.

The successful candidate must have:

• Minimum Level 2 Childcare qualification
• At least 2 years’ relevant childcare experience
• Experience in an after school club, nursery, pre-school or similar setting
• Confidence in delegating tasks and managing staff during a session
• Good communication and organisational skills
• A positive, enthusiastic approach to working with children
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the smooth running of the 3pm–6pm session
• Supervise and engage with children through play and activities
• Delegate duties and support the staff team
• Help maintain a safe, fun and welcoming environment
• Support with behaviour management, snacks and daily routines
• Work closely with the Manager and communicate any concerns

After school club experience is desirable, but relevant experience in a nursery or pre-school will also be considered.
