This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a practical mindset who enjoys working in a school environment and supporting the delivery of engaging science lessons.

The Role

• Preparing equipment, chemicals and materials for science lessons
• Setting up and clearing away practical experiments
• Supporting teaching staff with experiments and demonstrations
• Ensuring laboratories and preparation areas remain clean, safe and well organised
• Managing stock levels and assisting with the ordering of supplies
• Maintaining science equipment and reporting any faults
• Following laboratory health and safety procedures at all times
• Safely storing and disposing of chemicals and materials

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable
• Experience working in a school or laboratory environment would be beneficial
• A relevant science qualification or strong scientific knowledge
• Good organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
• An understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures
• A proactive, dependable and flexible approach
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
