We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated ESOL Lecturer to join a college in St Albans, starting as soon as possible.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ESOL teacher or lecturer who is passionate about supporting learners from a wide range of backgrounds to develop their English language skills and achieve their educational and career goals.

The role is initially long-term and ongoing, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role

As an ESOL Lecturer, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging ESOL lessons to learners of varying abilities.
• Develop students' speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
• Support learners with grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and communication.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs.
• Create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Encourage students to build confidence using English in everyday, educational and workplace settings.
• Support learners working towards relevant qualifications and assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and achievement.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience teaching ESOL or English to non-native speakers in a UK College setting
• Has strong knowledge of English language teaching and learning.
• Is confident working with learners from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
• Can plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons.
• Has excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Is patient, approachable and passionate about helping learners succeed.
• Can work effectively as part of a wider college team.

Relevant teaching qualifications and Further Education/college experience would be highly desirable.
