Bespoke Education are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor to work within welcoming and supportive secondary school in Wigan with an immediate start available.

This is a full-time position working 5 days per week, offering a competitive daily rate of £100–£120 per day depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You will supervise whole classes, deliver pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students remain engaged and focused throughout lessons.

This role offers valuable classroom experience and the chance to positively influence students’ education and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher
  • Delivering lesson instructions and ensuring students remain on task
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively and professionally
  • Supporting students in completing assigned work
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons
  • Creating a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

  • DBS Certificate on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
  • 2 professional references
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence managing groups of young people
  • A calm, professional, and adaptable approach
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting student success
  • Degree-level education or school-based experience is advantageous but not essential
