SEMH Learning Support Assistant – Full Time – Bolton 

Start Date: Thursday 12th March – Until Easter (with potential to extend)

Choice Teachers are working with a school in Bolton  seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs from Thursday 12th March until the Easter break.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a patient, resilient and supportive individual who is passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and succeed in the classroom.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs

  • Help students remain engaged, focused and supported throughout the school day

  • Work closely with the class teacher and pastoral staff

  • Support with behaviour management and emotional regulation

  • Work full-time from 12th March until the Easter break, with the possibility of the role continuing longer

Requirements for This Role

To be considered, you will need:

  • An up-to-date CV covering your full employment history (including any gaps)

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Two professional references

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs

  • A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2, Level 3 or HLTA) is highly desirable, although strong relevant experience will also be considered

  • A driving licence is desirable but not essential
