 About the Role

Choice Teachers are recruiting committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work in specialist SEN schools within the Rise Partnership. These are long-term and permanent roles, offering full-time hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm).

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to support children and young people with a range of additional needs. You will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop independence, and achieve their personal and academic goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils with special educational needs in class and during activities.

  • Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support.

  • Assisting with personal care and physical needs where required.

  • Helping create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

  • Collaborating with teachers and therapists to meet individual pupil needs.


The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working in an SEN or school setting (desirable).

  • OR have transferable skills from roles involving children, care, or support work.

  • Be available full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm.

  • Be patient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.

  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
