About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join there school team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in children's education and development while working in a supportive and collaborative environment. Please note this is a contract role 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 1 - 4 
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with varying learning needs
  • Assist with classroom preparation, including setting up resources and displays
  • Support pupils with special educational needs under the guidance of the SENCO
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Assist with playground supervision and extracurricular activities
  • Support assessment and record-keeping as directed by teaching staff
  • Encourage pupils' social and emotional development

Essential Requirements

  • GCSE grades A-C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine care for children's wellbeing
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a busy school environment
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable Requirements

  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience supporting children with SEND
  • Knowledge of phonics and early reading strategies
  • First Aid certification
  • Additional skills such as music, sports, or creative arts
