We are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team from September.

About the Role

• Start Date: September 2025
• Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
• School Type: All through SEN school (primary through secondary ages)
• Working Pattern: Full-time - Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils with Special Educational Needs across different age groups
• Provide 1:1 and small group support as required
• Assist with classroom management and learning activities
• Support pupils with personal care needs where appropriate
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff
• Help create a safe, nurturing learning environment
• Assist with behaviour management strategies
• Support pupils during break times and lunch periods

Essential Requirements

• Relevant SEN experience is essential
• Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs
• Ability to work with different age groups (primary through secondary)
• Understanding of various SEN conditions and learning difficulties
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
• Ability to follow individual education plans and support strategies
• Flexibility and adaptability to work across different year groups

Desirable Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Relevant SEN training or certifications
• Experience with specific SEN conditions (autism, ADHD, learning difficulties)
• First Aid training
• Team Teach or similar behaviour management training
