We are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team from September.
About the Role
- Start Date: September 2025
- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
- School Type: All through SEN school (primary through secondary ages)
- Working Pattern: Full-time - Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with Special Educational Needs across different age groups
- Provide 1:1 and small group support as required
- Assist with classroom management and learning activities
- Support pupils with personal care needs where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff
- Help create a safe, nurturing learning environment
- Assist with behaviour management strategies
- Support pupils during break times and lunch periods
Essential Requirements
- Relevant SEN experience is essential
- Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs
- Ability to work with different age groups (primary through secondary)
- Understanding of various SEN conditions and learning difficulties
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
- Ability to follow individual education plans and support strategies
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across different year groups
Desirable Qualifications
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Relevant SEN training or certifications
- Experience with specific SEN conditions (autism, ADHD, learning difficulties)
- First Aid training
- Team Teach or similar behaviour management training
