Job Title: Senior Facilities Technician
Location: Hackney
Salary: £31,836 – £35,164 Per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday (shift-based)
Start Date: 01 September 2025

Overview:

We are recruiting a Senior Facilities Technician to join a highly successful and well-respected school in the Hackney area. Working as part of a small team, you will support the Facilities Manager in maintaining a clean, safe, secure and well-functioning environment for staff, students, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with general maintenance across all trades: joinery, plumbing, electrics, plant and general building work
• Operate and maintain building systems including HVAC, access control, alarms and BMS
• Ensure the site remains safe, clean and compliant with health and safety regulations
• Act as second-in-command to the Facilities Manager, supporting with day-to-day operations and site-wide upkeep
• Deliver excellent customer service to internal stakeholders and external contractors
• Contribute to a high-performing and responsive facilities helpdesk system
• Work flexibly and support with paid overtime when required

Requirements:

• Strong multi-trade maintenance skills and a solution-focused, proactive approach
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• High standard of workmanship and attention to detail

Desirable:

• Previous experience in facilities management within a modern building
• Familiarity with school settings and safeguarding expectations
