About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive D&T Technician to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Buckinghamshire from September 2025. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Design and Technology department, supporting practical lessons, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient workshop environment.

The successful candidate will support teaching staff in delivering hands-on D&T experiences that inspire creativity and technical skills development among students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for a range of practical D&T lessons

  • Maintain and organise workshop resources, ensuring safety standards are upheld

  • Assist in setting up and clearing away practical sessions efficiently

  • Support teaching staff with technical advice and resource management

  • Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs of equipment

  • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the workshop areas

  • Assist with risk assessments and promote safe working practices

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a technical or support role within an educational or practical workshop environment

  • Good knowledge of workshop tools, equipment, and safety procedures

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Commitment to supporting young people’s learning and development

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
