About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Teacher of Food Technology to join a well-established secondary school in Dunstable from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop culinary skills, food science knowledge, and an understanding of nutrition.

You will be part of a supportive department focused on high standards, student development, and professional growth, contributing to both curriculum delivery and extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Prepare students for GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition assessments

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback

  • Develop creative and varied schemes of work to meet diverse learner needs

  • Support extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs or food-related events

  • Maintain a safe and engaging practical environment

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop the Food Technology curriculum

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Food Technology or Food Preparation and Nutrition at secondary level

  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for food education

  • Excellent classroom and practical workshop management skills

  • Commitment to student well-being and success

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
