About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Teacher of Food Technology to join a well-established secondary school in Dunstable from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop culinary skills, food science knowledge, and an understanding of nutrition.
You will be part of a supportive department focused on high standards, student development, and professional growth, contributing to both curriculum delivery and extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

Prepare students for GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition assessments

Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback

Develop creative and varied schemes of work to meet diverse learner needs

Support extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs or food-related events

Maintain a safe and engaging practical environment

Collaborate with colleagues to develop the Food Technology curriculum
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience teaching Food Technology or Food Preparation and Nutrition at secondary level

Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for food education

Excellent classroom and practical workshop management skills

Commitment to student well-being and success

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Must be 18 years of age or older
