✍️ About the Role

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wing is looking to appoint a skilled SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced support professional to play a key role in leading interventions, supporting teaching, and working closely with pupils who have special educational needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO, classroom teachers, and external professionals to help raise achievement and promote independence for children with a range of learning needs.


📝 Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess targeted interventions for pupils with SEN

  • Provide high-level classroom support and lead small group or 1:1 sessions

  • Cover classes when required and deliver pre-prepared lessons under the direction of teaching staff

  • Adapt learning materials and strategies to suit individual needs and EHCP targets

  • Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress and development

  • Support the implementation of behaviour strategies and individual support plans

  • Work in close partnership with teaching staff, parents, and external specialists


✔️ Requirements

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience

  • Strong background in supporting children with special educational needs

  • Experience planning and delivering interventions

  • Knowledge of common SEN profiles such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Confident working independently and collaboratively

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
